THE GORDLETON GALLERY

I have been working for some time with Liz Cottingham, the proprietor of The Mill at Gordleton, to equip a building on the edge of the hotel car park as an art gallery. Recently I had a successful exhibition as a test run and the Gallery is now available to other artists.

However Liz is far too busy to handle the booking procedure so I have offered to do it instead. Please make all enquiries to me, preferably by e-mail, and do not ring the hotel.

The Gallery is available to rent for a minimum of seven days at a six day charge, giving a free setting-up day. There are two rooms, both set up with good halogen lighting, for which the daily fee is £20 for the small room and £30 for the large room or £40 for the whole gallery, payable in advance to me.

The Gallery also contains running water, a kettle and a fridge. There are also cups and saucers and glasses. There is no bathroom.

Advertising, insurance, stewarding, opening and closing times and cleaning etc. are entirely up to you. It should also be remembered that unless you have your own credit card facilities, you should make it known that you only accept cash and cheques.

The Mill is a very popular venue for accommodation, lunch and dinner and there is a huge car park next to the gallery. In my experience many people combined a visit to the gallery with lunch, making for a pleasant afternoon.

There will be no commission charged, the rental fees covering the maintenance and energy costs. The gallery can accommodate a large number of paintings in a pleasant space. (I displayed more than sixty) and it is to my mind for New Forest artists a rare and inexpensive resource with no strings attached. Should you wish to visit please get in touch with me.
