Summer 2008

Thank goodness we have had some good weather at last!! It doesn’t make all the doom and gloom in the press quite so bad when you are sitting in the garden and the sun is shining!

Talking of which-we have provided lots more seating in the garden and on our extended terrace -including a gorgeous round table with halogen heater to seat up to ten people!! So there is a much greater chance of you enjoying our lovely gardens and river than ever before.

What could be better than a cold glass of wine or Pimm’s and a selection from our new Summer lunch menu.  Including fresh Solent Crab with organic leaves and locally grown new potatoes or an open sandwich of cold water prawns with chilli, mango and coriander or homemade Scotch egg and homemade brown sauce!! We are still serving our weekly changing two or three-course menu at £12.50 / £15.50 and offering you a choice from our seasonal Signature menu.

Whatever you choose we are striving to source all our produce locally or organically and it really is making a difference.

Adam is back from his adventure! (Adam is our lovely waiter who had the opportunity to work in the O’Leary Walker vineyard in Australia) he has had a fantastic time and is full of enthusiasm for all the wonderful wine he helped to produce as well as stories of diving with sharks and bungee jumping. We are hoping to get the O’Leary walker boys over in the Autumn for a really special gourmet evening and wine tasting sampling Adam’s wines!!

We do hope you can pay a visit whether for a coffee in our beautiful garden, a light snack, a special occasion meal in our private dining room or a memorable stay in one of our lovely individual rooms.
