Bucklers Hard

The maritime village of Buckler’s Hard is positioned on the banks of the river Beaulieu, just 25 minutes’ drive from The Mill. Step back in time to the 18th century and find out how important this village was to Britain’s shipbuilding history, including the vessels it built for Nelson’s Navy.

The Maritime Museum and Buckler’s Hard Story will give you an insight into what village life was like in the 1700s, with its replica timber framed shipwright’s workshop and reconstructed cottage interiors. You can also enjoy the Beaulieu Estate while you’re there, with a walk through the beautiful woodlands or a trip on the River Beaulieu (April-October).
