Salisbury and Winchester
The Chapter House at Salisbury Cathedral is home to one of the four Magna Carta manuscripts dating from 1215 AD. In addition to its Cathedral, Salisbury offers a bustling market, vibrant arts scene and many museums, as well as plenty of places to shop, eat and drink.
On the edge of the South Downs National Park lies Winchester. History and architecture fans should visit the Cathedral, Wolvesey Castle and the Arthurian Round Table. There’s plenty more to do in the city, with many pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from and nightly comedy, theatre, ballet or opera for entertainment. If you’re in town on the second and final Sunday of the month, visit the UK’s largest Farmer’s Market.
